The Garden Route & Shamwari Game Reserve
The Garden Route is a 300 kilometre stretch of the south-eastern coast of South Africa which extends from Witsand in the Western Cape to the border of Tsitsikamma Storms River in the Eastern Cape. The name comes from the verdant and ecologically diverse vegetation encountered here and the numerous estuaries and lakes dotted along the coast. It includes towns such as Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, Mossel Bay, Great Brak River, Little Brak River, Wilderness, Sedgefield and Nature’s Valley; with George, the Garden Route’s largest city and main administrative centre. Recently the towns of Albertinia, Riversdale, Heidelberg, Ladismith, Calitzdorp, Oudtshoorn, De Rust and Uniondale have been added to the Garden Route district and municipality.

DAY 1: ARRIVAL & GEORGE HALF DAY
South Africa’s famous Mother City, rich in history, culture, beauty and nature. It is almost always the pinnacle destination of any itinerary.
DAY 2: BOTLIERSKOP & ROBERTSON PASS
Botlierskop Private Game Reserve in the Western Cape ensures its visitors of a unique South African Safari experience.
DAY 3: OUDTSHOORN FULL DAY
The Ostrich capital of the world is an adventure, culture and environment destination in the Klein Karoo.
DAY 4: KNYSNA FULL DAY
Knysna is a quaint town located on the edge of a vast estuary which flows into the Indian Ocean through two giant sandstone heads.
DAY 5: TSITSIKAMMA FULL DAY
The area is covered in large tracts of indigenous forest, commercial plantation and fynbos. Deep river gorges cleft the plateau as they make their way down to the sea.
DAY 6 & 7: SHAMWARI GAME RESERVE
Shamwari Private Game Reserve is a premier safari and holiday destination in South Africa’s ecologically and culturally significant Eastern Cape Province.
DAY 8: DEPART PORT ELIZABETH AIRPORT

Day One:
Arrival & George Half Day Tour
Arrive at George Airport and enjoy a scenic drive up the famous Outeniqua Pass. Stop in the small farm village of Herold for a delicious platter lunch & wine tasting. We board the Powervan and travel up the Outeniqua Mountains, one of the most scenic railway passes in the country. Experience the forest and four passes, waterfalls and six tunnels, fynbos and proteas, bird and animal life and the panoramic picnic area. Thereafter we travel to our Hotel where we will check in and overnight. Welcome Dinner with Host. Evening at leisure. Overnight 4* Protea Hotel King George. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Situated between the magnificent Outeniqua Mountains and unspoiled beaches of the Indian Ocean, in the heart of the Garden Route, the 3000 ha Botlierskop Private Game Reserve in the Western Cape ensures its visitors of a unique South African Safari experience. After an exciting 2.5 hour game safari, lunch will be served in the Day Visitors centre. End the day with a once in a life time experience as you walk alongside Africa’s most majestic predators. The “Walking with Lions” encounter is an opportunity to interact with young lions. Proceed through the beautiful Robertson Pass & check in at your lodge. Dinner at Lodge. Overnight at Eight Bells Mountain Inn. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day Two:
Botlierskop & Robertson Pass
After breakfast depart to Botlierskop. End the day with a visit to the majestic Cango Caves, one of the natural wonders of the world. The Cango Caves lie in the Swartberg Mountain Range in a limestone belt. Check in at your guest house & enjoy a traditional barbecue dinner. Overnight De Denne Guesthouse. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Oudtshoorn Full Day Tour
After breakfast & check out, we will travel onward to Oudtshoorn, the Ostrich capital of the World. Arrive in Oudtshoorn & commence a shopping spree at the Ostrich Leather & Feather factory. The world-famous Heads are the grand sandstone cliffs towering above the entrance to the Knysna Lagoon, with hectares of evergreen forests, an unspoilt coastline and the Outeniqua Mountains in the background. Situated within the newly proclaimed Garden Route National park, the Knysna Estuary is tidal and home to the famous Knysna Oyster and the rare Knysna Sea Horse. En-route you will enjoy numerous stops at view points, craft markets & stunning beaches. Wilderness village is an ideal spot to have a scrumptious lunch. Arrive in Knysna. Check in to your hotel & enjoy an afternoon stroll to the Waterfront. Evening at leisure. Overnight Knysna Hollow. Breakfast and lunch included.
Day Four:

After breakfast we check out and depart to Tsitsikamma, tucked between the mountains and the sea. It offers beautiful forests and numerous exciting activities. Start the day off with an exhilarating stroll through Tsitsikamma National Park. Then on to the Crags : Monkeyland, Birds of Eden and The Jukani Wildlife Sanctuary. Visitors to Monkeyland are taken on monkey safaris in the forest by game rangers to see around 500+ primates, ranging from the Gibbons of Asia, Howlers from South America to the Lemurs of Madagascar. Stroll through Birds of Eden which is home to over 3000 birds which range from African Turacos to the parrots of South America. Follow this with a visit to The Jukani Wildlife sanctuary which is home to various species of apex cats and other wildlife such as wild dog, hyena and snakes. The sanctuaries are Fairtrade Accredited. After the activities we will head to Tsitsikamma Village to check in. Dinner at Lodge/Hotel. Overnight Tsitsikamma Village Inn. Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

- Porterage & Gratuity are not included in any fare.
- Waters are not included but can be supplied at an additional cost of
R12 per 330ml unit or R15 per 500ml unit. - Driver overnight fee may apply for long distance transfers. This will either be
for the client’s account or will be charged for separately.
ADDITIONAL
- A waiting fee will be raised at R 250 per hour/part thereof for deviation
from agreed departure time. This does not apply to delayed flights. - It is by law a requirement that all vehicles with guests on board have a
name list and detailed itinerary. - Full Day tours are strictly from 08:00 to 17:00 or 09:00 to 18:00.
